A Community Forum on the Future of Queen Anne’s Plaza and Accord Park @ Cushing Memorial Hall
Sep 24 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

The Town of Norwell is creating a vision for the Accord Industrial Park and Queen Anne’s Plaza. Join us for
the first of three public meetings to help set the vision, priorities, and goals that will inform zoning changes.

Norwell has a huge opportunity to grow its commercial tax base, diversify its housing supply, and leverage the development occuring in neighboring communities to benefit the town—but we need your participation!

You don’t have to know a lot—or anything—about zoning. You bring your ideas and we’ll bring the ice cream!

2019 JAY CORCORAN MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT & DINNER @ Easton Country Club
Sep 27 all-day

The Captain Richard Phillips Lane Kirkland Trust is pleased to host the 2019 Jay Corcoran Memorial Golf Tournament and Dinner, benefiting the U.S. Maritime Industry and providing scholarships to students attending maritime colleges and training schools.

We cordially invite you to support and participate in all or part of the day’s events on September 27, 2019. Mark your calendar to join us for the Tournament and/or Dinner at the Easton Country Club, 265 Purchase Street, South Easton, MA.

Captain Rich Phillips will be at the Tournament, as well as, speak during Dinner about his ordeal at the hands of Somali pirates. (You might recall he was held hostage by Somali pirates in 2009 and rescued by a Navy Seal Team. Tom Hanks starred in a big box office success about Rich’s capture and release.)

This will be a wonderful event, bringing many together on behalf of Jay Corcoran’s memory and impact. Jay was a U.S. Merchant Marine Engineer from Norwell, Massachusetts, who was beloved by all those who knew him. He died tragically in the events of 9/11. This Tournament and Dinner honor him and provides support to the maritime industry he loved.

Come for golf and / or just for dinner (yes, you can attend dinner without golfing to meet and hear Captain Phillips) and benefit this great cause.

There is also the opportunity for sponsorships by individuals and companies, or donation of items for the raffles and prizes. Likewise, we are also looking for a few volunteers to assist on Tournament Day.

Please email us at eventregistration@captainphillipstrust.org to volunteer, sign up or donate; or check the Phillips Trust website Events Page and click on “PDF” to get the downloadable information and sign up. https://captainphillipstrust.org/event/the-2019-jay-corcoran-memorial-golf-tournament-and-dinner/?event_date=2019-09-27

Call 678-472-7097 for questions or to discuss sponsorships.

The Phillips Trust is a designated 501(C3) and donations are deductible. All of the day’s proceeds will go to support scholarships for those pursuing a maritime career or related industry.

Your parents’ health and safety should never be an afterthought; your best decisions are rarely made under
pressure of an emergency. Whether the time is now or somewhere down the road, this workshop is
designed to give you information to make your best decisions regarding medical care, care coordination,
senior living options and financial protection strategies.
 “My Mom’s needs are becoming harder to manage after her stroke; how can we get her
the best care and protect her assets?”
 “My Dad is getting out of the hospital; what services are available for him at home?”
 “How will I know when it is time to make the move to senior living?”
 “I am my parents’ caregiver and take care of their finances. Both of them have significant
needs and I am overwhelmed. What are my options?”
 “How much will senior living cost and what is included?”
 “My Mom is more and more forgetful due to her dementia; what are the options for her
care?”
 “My parents are starting to age; are we prepared for down the road?”
